Job summary

ACCEL Schools' Strongsville Academy in Strongsville, OH is seeking a Special Education Instructional Aide to support the classroom teacher and promote positive behaviors in academics and activities.

You will assist with instructional activities, manage student safety, and help maintain a productive, inclusive learning environment for EK-2nd grade students at a premier charter school within the ACCEL Schools network.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, or two years of college coursework, or Paraprofessional’s Exam required.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher with classroom activities and follow instructional plans.
• Support student safety and positive classroom climate during academics and activities.
• Assist with school activities, parent nights, meetings, and events.
• Perform clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Support the Teacher in the use of classroom technology.
• Help maintain cleanliness of classroom and lunchroom.
• Adhere to ACCEL Schools philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties as assigned including field trips, duty posts, and lunch duty.
