Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• AA degree or 45 college hours including required courses.
• Possess a Level III New Mexico Educational Assistant license and a Substitute license.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed personnel in the school environment.
• Provides assistance with individual program materials.
• Assists licensed personnel with student discipline.
• Assists in maintaining student involvement in tasks.
• Assists with supplementary work and supervises independent study.
• Responds to students as individuals.
• Maintains cohesiveness in the school environment.
• Displays a desire to work with students and serves as a role model.
• Works as a team member and communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
• Uses current technology for instruction and management needs.
• Work under supervision of certified teachers and principal.
• Assist in preparation for program and classroom activities.
• Work with small groups to reinforce material.
• Assist individual children needing special attention.
• Assist with classroom instruction and program goals.
