Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking a SPED Structured ALC paraprofessional at Wilson Middle School. The role focuses on direct support for students with significant cognitive delays and sensory-motor differences, under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, preparing materials, and coordinating with teachers on IEP modifications. Candidates should communicate effectively and work well with children with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students and staff.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Experience with students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher(s) in preparation of student work, workstations, and classroom displays.
• Assist with instructional activities under the direction of the special education team leader.
• Liaison between regular education and special education teachers on student IEP modifications and adaptations.
• Adjust on-the-spot instruction and provide daily feedback to teachers on student progress.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and personal care.
• Monitor and supervise students in various school settings.
• Support equipment management and class setup as needed.
