Job summary

Alvin ISD is seeking a SPED Fundamental Skills Paraprofessional to assist a special education teacher in delivering instructional and behavioral supports to students with disabilities in both SPED and general ed settings. The role requires working under the supervision of a certified teacher and principal.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 48 college hours or an associate degree, passing score on paraprofessional competency, and Texas Education Aide Certificate obtainable

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with children.
• High School Diploma or GED with 48 college hours or associate degree or passing Paraprofessional Competencies exam.
• Texas Education Aide Certificate (obtainable through Alvin ISD when hired).

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management and instructional activities.
• Support in preparation and delivery of instruction under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Provide assistance to students with disabilities in both SPED and general education settings.
