Job summary

Pearce Elementary in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a Special Education Behavior Teacher to provide intervention and instruction consistent with IEP goals. The role reports to the Principal and supports students with emotional and behavioral needs in self-contained or collaborative settings.

Responsibilities include planning adaptive curricula, collaborating with classroom teachers, and participating in ARD Committee meetings to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Texas Core EC-6 teaching certificate with required SPED endorsements, or Valid Teaching Permit.
• Knowledge of ARD/IEP processes and implementation.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thoroughness, reliability and accuracy in work.
• Collaborate with staff to develop IEPs through ARD process.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting students’ learning styles.
• Modify curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and plan activities accordingly.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents and staff.
• Ensure safety and proper management of classroom as per IEP.
