Job summary

Lake Charles Charter Academy seeks a SPED Teacher's Aide to assist the SPED teacher in daily classroom supervision and management. You will help plan activities, prepare materials, and support students during instruction and play.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, fluency in English, and a background check. Experience with children, especially with disabilities, is preferred; confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED is required.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
• Experience working with children; preferably with disabilities.
• Be in the process of becoming prepared to supervise young children.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SIS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the daily program under the SPED teacher.
• Prepare learning materials and organize the classroom environment.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce instruction.
• Supervise students during outdoor activities and duties in the classroom.
• Perform clerical tasks and attend staff meetings and training.
