Qualifications

• Paraprofessional certificate II required after employment
• CPI certification required after employment
• Title I campus: college hours 48 minimum or ParaPro score 464
• Non-Title I campus: college hours 15+ or HS diploma/GED with ParaPro score 464

Responsibilities

• Adhere to federal, state and local policies for SPED paraprofessionals and child care facilities
• Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities
• Assist in carrying out instructional programs
• Maintain confidential student records and data for progress
• Prepare, use and maintain instructional materials and equipment
• Assist with teacher-planned activities, exercises and drills
• Assist students in self-care activities (feeding, toileting)
• Support therapy programs which may require lifting/positioning
• Attend professional meetings as required
• Assist in behavior intervention strategies
• Provide non-medical interventions as needed (e.g., feeding tubes)
• Provide instructional support and accommodations for students
• Other duties as assigned
• Other SHARS duties as assigned
• Provide personal care as identified in IEPs
