Yoh Life Sciences is seeking a Chemometrician – Analytical Chemist for a direct-hire role in Austin, Texas. The candidate will design experiments with NIR and Raman spectroscopy, develop calibration and validation datasets, and build predictive models translating spectral data into actionable customer insights.

The role requires a background in analytical chemistry, chemometrics, and programming with Python, R, or MATLAB, plus strong communication skills and a willingness to travel 20–25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with NIR and Raman spectroscopy.
• Knowledge of chemometric modeling concepts and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB for analysis.
• Strong analytical and problemd solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
• Willingness to travel ~20–25%.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments to generate calibration and validation datasets for chemometric models.
• Operate and maintain NIR and Raman spectroscopy instrumentation.
• Apply DoE and sampling strategies to ensure data quality and representativeness.
• Construct predictive models translating spectral data into actionable information for customers.
• Develop software supporting MATLAB and Python SDKs used by the chemometrics team.
• Develop tools to evaluate chemometric models prior to deployment to field analyzers.
• Collaborate across scientific, technical, and software teams to translate complex concepts into practical solutions.
• Apply software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
