Job summary

Labcorp in Richmond, VA is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to supervise the day-to-day operations and guide the accessioning team through evening shifts. The role focuses on quality, efficiency, and adherence to lab policies.

Responsibilities include leading daily processes, preparing specimens for analysis, and driving process improvements while ensuring accurate results in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a clinical lab and people leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in lab, accessioning, data entry or production.
• Willingness to supervise and lead a team.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00p - 12:30am with OT as business needs demand. Rotating weekends a must. Must be flexible and willing to make adjustments to work schedule to ensure proper coverage and leadership of specimen accessioners, accommodation for all team lead time off.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations
• Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

• Encourage process improvements and best practices
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Resolve any production errors as requested by management
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry or production.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree
• 2 Years or more experience working in a clinical laboratory
• 2 Years or more experience as a people leader

Job Additional Standards:

• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay Range: $18.00-$26.00 Per Hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Benefits:

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
