Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision of day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Help lead the team in daily processes and procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Oversee routing of specimens to prep areas.
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Resolve production errors as requested by management.
  • Research and resolve production errors and escalate when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Enforce and manage policies and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday – 5:00pm - 1:30am with rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the Department Name department
  • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Resolve any production errors as requested by management
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry or production.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree
  • 3 years or more experience working in a clinical laboratory
  • 3 years or more experience as a people leader
Job Additional Standards:
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Benefits:
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
