Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Specimen Accessioner to join our team on the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00 pm–4:30 am) with monthly weekend rotation and overtime. You will prepare specimens, label, route, and data enter patient information to support testing workflows.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 1+ year of clinical/lab experience; preferred candidates have Labcorp experience and familiarity with production environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year or more of prior clinical/lab experience.
• One year or more of prior knowledge of specimen accessioning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 pm - 4:30 am; required monthly weekend rotation. Overtime: 1-4 hours of daily required overtime.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year or more of prior clinical/lab experience
• One year or more of prior knowledge of specimen accessioning

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• One year or more of previous experience in production or manufacturing

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Able to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized colorblind test
• Able to work 1-4 hours of daily overtime

Pay Range: $17.75 - 19:00

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
