A healthcare staffing company in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Specimen Processing Technician. In this role, you will process and prepare specimens for testing in a dynamic environment. The position requires a high school diploma and familiarity with laboratory terminology. The shift is Monday to Friday from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Competitive hourly pay ranging from $20 to $24 based on experience. This is a contract role with potential for extension.

Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Join Pride Health as a Specimen Processing Technician at Gaithersburg, MD! This is a 6 months contract role (with possible extension) offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.

Location: Gaithersburg, MD 20877

Shift Schedule:

Monday – Friday: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Saturday rotation required

Hours per Week: 40 hours

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Highlights: $20 - 24/hour (Based on years of experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process, sort, and prepare specimens for testing.
Perform specimen handling functions, including centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging, and delivery to laboratory.
Enter patient and specimen data (minimum 6,000 keystrokes/hour).
Maintain accuracy and timeliness while meeting departmental productivity standards.
Ensure compliance with regulations related to specimen processing and test ordering.
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Communicate effectively with team members and staff at all levels.
Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workflows.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Familiarity with laboratory terminology and specimen processing (Preferred)

Note: Local candidates within 30 miles are eligible.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credit.
