Pride Health is hiring an Overnight/Day Specimen Processor to support a medical facility in Chantilly, VA 20151. This is a 3 months assignment with possibility of extension or conversion, offering an opportunity to work with a top-tier healthcare organization.

Responsibilities include sorting, aliquotting, scanning and storing samples, data entry, and learning compliance regulations related to test ordering. Night shifts predominate with potential weekends/on-call overtime.

Qualifications

• No prior laboratory experience required; previous lab exposure is a plus.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to learn test-order compliance rules.

• Sort, puck, aliquot, scan and store samples; handle -20°C for short periods.
• Perform data entry and contribute to lab specimen processing tasks.
• Support A-station, presort, pickup/delivery of processed specimens and imaging activities.

About the Position

Pride Health is hiring an Overnight/Day Specimen Processor to support our client’s medical facility based in Chantilly, VA 20151. This is a 3 months assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Position Details

• Job Name: Overnight/Day Specimen Processor
• Location: Chantilly, VA 20151
• Duration: 3 months with possibilities of extension
• Payrate: $18.58/hr. on w2/Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Responsibilities

• The responsibilities will be sorting samples, pucking samples, aliquotting samples, scanning and storing samples, pulling samples from the refrigerator/freezer and the ability to handle -20 degree temperatures for 5-10 minutes at a time. The SPT I is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This position requires a data entry background. Functions performed may include but are not limited to A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation and aliquoting. All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy and in a timely manner. Job is complex and requires that employee have good organization skills and is able to learn and understand specimen types related to test(s) ordered by client. The SPT I must have the ability to learn and understand the compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change on a daily basis. This position is critical to quality for customer satisfaction. Additionally, since many changes do occur from day to day, great flexibility on the part of the SPT I is required. The SPT I will be exposed to many different demands made by the customer. Majority of SPT I work on the nightshift but based on staffing needs, weekends, holidays, on call and overtime availability is a requirement.

Education and Experience

• HS diploma or equivalent. Required Knowledge: Basic understanding of computers with a preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing. Work Experience: No experience required but previous laboratory experience preferred. Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory. Previous hospital laboratory experience is a plus but not required. Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
