Qualifications

High School Graduate.
6 months of experience in a clinical laboratory - working with biological specimens.
Completion of a Phlebotomy program.
1 or more years of experience in specimen collection and processing.

Responsibilities

Create registration encounters and release orders from HIS when indicated; receive samples in LIS.
Ensure proper container type, centrifugation, and specimen transport conditions.
Maintain positive patient identification and correct specimen collection and handling/transport.
Perform pre-analytical processing including aliquoting and preparation for automation.
Assist with training new hires and students as applicable.
Follow safety and infection control procedures and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
