Job summary

Labcorp in Planview, NY is hiring a Specimen Processing Specialist to join the Specimen Processing and Accessioning team. You will perform accessioning, sort specimens, and manage data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput onsite environment with client offices.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 1 year lab/production experience, and proficiency in MS Office. The pay range is $17.75–$26.00 per hour with a second shift differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in lab/accessioning or production/manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client
