Job summary

Labcorp in Rome NY is seeking a Specimen Processing Specialist to join our onsite team handling accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced environment with client offices.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of lab, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing or warehouse experience. Strong MS Office skills, attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 40lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required
• 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing, or warehouse roles preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Perform spinning/freezing/splitting and other required services as needed
