Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA seeks a semi-technical Medical Lab Assistant responsible for receiving and distributing samples, ensuring proper labeling, and partnering with phlebotomy, nursing and front desk teams in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will handle various specimen types, assist with esoteric testing prep, maintain QA records and temperature logs, and support process improvements with lab IT and other departments.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of continuous employment as a lab assistant.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of basic computer usage.
• Manual dexterity and ability to follow detailed instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Receive and distribute all samples from nursing, phlebotomy, and outpatient draw areas.
• Ensure accuracy of doctor orders and proper specimen handling for various test types.
• Maintain QA records and temperature logs for the department.
• Coordinate with nursing, radiology, surgery, ER and outside labs to resolve issues.
• Assist with labeling accuracy and error documentation as per SOPs.
