Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Lab Assistant to support the clinical laboratory in a fast-paced environment. The role includes handling specimens, validating orders, preparing reports and coordinating with phlebotomy and nursing to resolve issues.

You will maintain QA records, manage sample routing to reference labs, and assist with billing clarifications. Strong interpersonal and computer skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred Experience: Three (3) years as a lab assistant; bilingual a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; able to work with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Receive and distribute samples from nursing, phlebotomy, and outpatient areas; coordinate with front desk for add-ons.
• Maintain QA records and temperature logs; ensure proper specimen labeling and routing to reference labs.
• Assist with complex billing, send-outs to outside labs, and investigate issues with management and customers.
