Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years of continuous employment as a lab assistant.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of basic computer use and following detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and distribute all samples collected by nursing, phlebotomy, and outpatient draw area.
• Maintain communication with phlebotomists on floors and front desk for add-ons and reprints.
• Resolve sample problems with other departments and outside clients as needed.
• Handle complex emergencies such as trauma, stroke alerts, and disasters.
• Ensure integrity of all submitted clinical specimens and proper routing to labs.
• Document errors and maintain QA records and logs.
