Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Specimen Technician III in Portland, ME. The role operates Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM in a hospital-based setting at Northern Lights Hospital.

Salary ranges from $20.34 to $22.31 per hour with potential shift differentials and a possible annual performance bonus. The position emphasizes accuracy, complex specimen processing, and adherence to compliance policies.

Qualifications

• Internal candidates must have at least 9 months experience in the SPT II role.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in responsibilities of the SPT II and related SOPs.
• Identifies problems and may resolve issues with specimen types.
• Complies with test ordering policies and specimen requirements.
• May assist in training staff in Specimen Processing functions.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures, including Safety and Compliance.
