Job summary

Labcorp in San Diego is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processing Associate to join the team on the 3rd shift. You will prepare specimens, unpack and route them, label accurately, and ensure timely data entry.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and compliance with safety standards; prior Labcorp experience and healthcare exposure are preferred; you will lift up to 40 lbs and may work extended hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 months+ experience in a lab or specimen processing.
• 3 months+ experience in the healthcare industry.
• 3 months in an assembly/manufacturing production environment.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
