Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI seeks a part-time Specimen Control and Receiving Tech for the Support Services team. The role involves receiving and logging specimens, ensuring proper labeling, and directing them to the correct work stations or storage areas.

Qualifications

  • Some post-secondary education in healthcare or related science preferred.

Job description

Work Schedule:

20% FTE, working 4 hour shifts 4pm-8pm Monday thru Friday with some Saturdays 9am-1pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:
  • This position may be eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus
  • Additional components of compensation may include:
    • Evening and night shift differential
    • Weekend differential

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Some post-secondary education in a healthcare or a related science field that may include course work in Medical Laboratory Technician, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnician or Medical Laboratory Scientist degree/certification Preferred
Work Experience
  • 6 months experience in lab, healthcare, customer service or data entry role Required
  • 1 year healthcare or lab related work experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred
