Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to conduct diagnostic tests and maintain laboratory equipment. Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in lab science required or equivalent education.
  • 1 year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician preferred.
  • Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  • Promote safety culture in lab practices.
  • Promote culture of safety for patients through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

Job description

Work Schedule

80% FTE, day shift. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00AM – 5:30PM. Rotating on-call weekends. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay
  • This position may be eligible for a $6,400.00 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).

Position

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Clinical Labs to:

  • Perform moderately complex diagnostic tests and limited high complexity testing.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on select lab equipment or instruments.
  • Perform troubleshooting on select laboratory equipment or instruments as a scientist.
  • Promote culture of safety for patients through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

Qualifications
  • Associate\'s Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology Required or education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses Required
Work Experience
  • 1 year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Certification Medical Laboratory Technician by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency Preferred
