Job summary

Amergis, formerly Maxim Healthcare Staffing, seeks a Specimen Collector/Non-Certified Phlebotomist to collect urine, saliva and blood specimens as trained to support clinic volume and patient care.

You will provide patient instruction and emotional support during interactions, ensuring quality specimens while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This travel role covers multiple MA sites including healthcare facilities in South Dennis, Springfield and Fall River.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required, per ad
• One year prior patient care experience preferred
• Prior training in venipuncture or blood collection preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Collect urine, saliva, and blood specimens as trained to ensure quality samples
• Provide customer service and emotional support during patient interactions
• Follow clinic protocols to maintain safety and accuracy in specimen collection

Job description

The Specimen Collector/Non-Certified Phlebotomist collects urine or saliva specimens, in addition to blood samples as trained and competent, as needed according to clinic volume. The Specimen Collector/Non-Certified Phlebotomist provides customer service in each patient interaction by providing instruction, emotional support or other patient care duties to obtain quality specimens.

• High School Diploma/GED required
• One year prior patient care experience preferred
• Prior training in venipuncture or blood collection preferred
• Additional certification and/or licensure as applicable per state, federal and facility contract
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
