Job summary

Millennium Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist for full-time specimen collection and processing. You will collect blood, urine, and saliva, document orders, and coordinate with labs and clinics to ensure accurate results.

The ideal candidate has Louisiana phlebotomy certification and at least 1 year of experience, plus strong customer service skills. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for multi-site duties.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient blood, urine and/or oral fluid specimens

• Serve as intermediary between practice/clinic and laboratory
• Record patient information and physician order details
• Resolve specimen issues with billing or patient information
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collections for Millennium Health specimens
• Travel between multiple facilities as needed

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana Schedule: Full-Time | Mon: 6am-8am, 9:30am-12:30pm, 5pm-7:30pm Tues: 6am-12pm Wed: 6am-8am Thurs: 6am-8am, 9:30am-12:30pm, 5pm-7:30pm Fri: 6am-12pm

The Specimen Collector Phlebotomist is a key role at Millennium Health. As our representative, this position provides exemplary care and exceptional customer service to patients, clinicians, and our laboratory.

As a Specimen Collector Phlebotomist:

• Collect patient blood, urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens?
• Process and package collections for shipping
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory?
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite?
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required

Requirements

Ideal Candidate:

Certified phlebotomist with 1+ year experience in the field (experience considered in place of certificate) 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients preferred LSBME Louisiana state Phlebotomist certification required 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer required Valid driver's license required; reliable transportation Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus High School diploma or equivalent required Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs

• National, federal, and county criminal history

• Global watchlist search

• Social Security Number (SSN) trace

• FACIS (Fraud and Abuse Control Information System) Level 3 search

• SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusions

• Education verification

• Driving record (Motor Vehicle Report)

• 5-panel urine drug screening
