Job summary

Millennium Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Full Time Specimen Collector Phlebotomist to collect blood, urine or oral fluid specimens across multiple facilities. The role requires active phlebotomy licensure in Louisiana and a focus on accurate patient data and timely processing for shipping.

Qualifications

• Certified phlebotomist with 1+ year of field experience.
• Valid and active phlebotomy license through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME).
• 6+ months experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years in medical field supporting patients.
• 2+ years customer service experience can substitute medical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate smartphone and computer.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient blood, urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping.
• Serve as intermediary between practice/clinic and laboratory.
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable).
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required.

Full Time Specimen Collector Phlebotomist

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana

Full-Time | Mondays- 6am to 8am, 9am to 12:30pm and 5pm to 7:30pm

Tuesdays- 6am to 12pm

Wednesdays- 6am to 8am

Thursdays- 6am to 8am, 9am to 12:30pm , 5pm to 7:30pm

Fridays- 6am to 12pm

Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with more than a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services, helping clinicians monitor use of prescription medications and illicit drugs supporting improved clinical decision-making as part of treatment for millions of Americans with chronic pain, mental illness, and substance use disorders.

The Specimen Collector Phlebotomist is a key role at Millennium Health. As our representative, this position provides exemplary care and exceptional customer service to patients, clinicians, and our laboratory.

As a Specimen Collector Phlebotomist:

• Collect patient blood, urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens
• Process and package collections for shipping
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required

Ideal Candidate:

• Certified phlebotomist with 1+ year experience in the field
• Candidate must hold a valid and active phlebotomy license through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME)
• 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients preferred
• 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer required
• Valid driver's license required; reliable transportation
• Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs

• SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusions
