Team Summary

The Specified Solutions Advisor is a key member of the Building and Roofing Science Team. This remote role involves developing specification opportunities for GAF | Siplast by working directly with architects, spec writers, and roofing consultants. It requires building and maintaining relationships with architects, specifiers, and decision-makers, ensuring our products are incorporated into construction projects.

Job Summary

The Advisor supports GAF Commercial and Siplast sales teams, focusing on identifying project opportunities where the Building Science team can add value. It involves working with Territory Managers to convert opportunities into wins, and establishing relationships within the design and real estate community through outreach, trade shows, presentations, and meetings.

Essential Duties
  • Identify market opportunities with building owners, facilities managers, associations, spec writers, architects, and consultants, aiming to build lasting relationships while managing multiple priorities.
  • Engage in industry events (AIA, IIBEC, CSI, SCIP, BEC, ASLA) to network and influence product specifications as a trusted advisor.
  • Influence project specifications by engaging with building owners and facilities managers, providing technical expertise to meet project needs.
  • Coordinate with design managers and sales teams to host educational programs, utilizing marketing tools like presentations, literature, and samples.
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the specification process, developing project-specific solutions aligned with design goals.
  • Manage follow-up and project tracking using construction databases, CRM, and industry resources to increase sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales and science teams to align strategies, communicate effectively across departments, and identify influential architects and specifiers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to stay ahead, using insights to drive innovation.
  • Maintain a positive, balanced approach to work, respecting diverse personalities and working collaboratively to achieve sales goals.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of sales experience or in the building material industry preferred.
  • Experience in consultative selling of roofing materials to professionals and property owners.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory (1-2 weeks/month).
Qualifications Preferred
  • Knowledge of roofing industry, strong public speaking skills, proficiency in Google Suite, and experience with Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and motivation.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Industry certifications (CDT, LEED AP, RRO, RRC) are highly valued.

Consideration will be based on geography, experience, and qualifications.

Annual Salary Range: $126,000 - $161,000.

Annual Bonus Range: $24,000 - $33,000.
