We are looking for a thought leader and technical expert in a specific vertical (e.g., Financial Services, Telecommunications) to join the CXO Advisory team. This fast-growing, globally dispersed team works in an exciting space with nearly limitless opportunities for growth. Our team members are experienced practitioners and experts working directly with C-Suite executives of our clients on application modernization and related strategies, while also engaging with customer developers and speaking their language.

The CXO Advisory team delivers thought leadership and practical guidance for enterprise IT modernization and innovation, extending beyond databases to encompass the entire business IT landscape. Generative AI plays a key role—both as a tool for modernization and as a means to address future development challenges. The individual in this role engages with clients, evolves approaches and concepts, and supports a defined group of global enterprise clients aligned with MongoDB's strategy. Responsibilities include supporting executive sales conversations, developing sales materials and training, advising on modernization strategies, and leading modernization pilots and programs. Technical involvement may include diving into code to provide direction. Excellent communication skills, including presentation abilities, are essential, along with experience in software development and management.

This role involves collaboration across various functions within the company, including sales, professional services, product, and marketing. You will be instrumental in winning deals, driving business growth, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The position is flexible regarding location but must be within the specified region, including options for NYC headquarters, other office hubs, or remote work within the U.S. or Canada.

Ideal candidates will have:

• 15+ years in an IT role delivering solutions (not on the vendor side)
• 10+ years in software development and architecture
• 10+ years in IT management, including leading a development organization
• Deep experience with database products, ETL tools, database modeling and design
• Experience transforming legacy environments (e.g., Mainframe, DB2, Oracle PL/SQL) to microservice architectures
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for all organizational levels
• Experience with scalable, highly available distributed systems
• Ability to discuss a broad range of data technologies (e.g., RDBMS, Java, NoSQL, unstructured data)
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for clients, events, and team meetups

• Engaging with senior client leaders during transformation journeys:
• Creating buy-in for Modernization Factory
• Advising on transformation strategies
• Designing pilots for generative AI-augmented transformations
• Partnering with sales to ensure success in modernization initiatives
• Representing MongoDB at events, in person or digital
• Overseeing project delivery teams, identifying and resolving technical issues
• Aligning with product management to communicate field requirements
• Guiding junior colleagues and demonstrating resilience in business challenges
• Proactively enabling other teams on modernization projects
• Maintaining situational awareness and reacting appropriately in group settings
• Embracing growth and change in a fast-paced environment
