Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Newark, Delaware, is seeking a Part-Time Specialty Veterinary Technician (LVT III) to support our specialty departments. You will provide advanced patient care, perform anesthesia calculations, monitor patients, and assist in surgical preparation.

Pay is $22.00 - $44.00 per hour, with 16-24 hours per week scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The leveling system rewards experience and professional growth within our team.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of specialty or emergency veterinary experience preferred.
• Strong anesthesia and patient monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced patient care including triage, treatment, monitoring, and nursing for hospitalized patients.
• Assist with emergency and specialty procedures supporting clinicians with diagnostics and client communication.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, and laboratory testing.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform anesthesia calculations, induction, monitoring and recovery for surgical and diagnostic procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and maintain aseptic technique.
• Monitor ECGs and patient vitals and communicate abnormalities.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments and treatment areas.
• Complete RECOVER CPR training and respond effectively in emergencies.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an extraordinary Specialty Veterinary Technician to provide support to our Specialty departments!

Pay: $22.00 - $44.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through leveling system.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 16-24 hours per week
