Job summary

ECS Limited in Phoenix seeks a Specialty Technician to join our team and advance in a dynamic field environment. You will conduct field observations, inspections, and sampling of construction materials, and may work with steel testing including destructive and non-destructive methods.

You will collaborate with senior staff, perform data collection and calculations, maintain equipment, and communicate daily with site contractors and project managers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Willing to obtain 2 relevant specialty certifications from NRC/NICET/WACEL/ACI/IFC/AWS/ASNT/ASTM.
• Ability to lift 40–70 lbs multiple times a day; occasional 85 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Must provide suitable transportation to job sites (mileage reimbursed).
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and follow safety rules.
• Strong communication skills (spoken, reading, writing).
• Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles and standards.
• Understanding of heavy construction safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to perform work at heights.
• Proficiency with devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction plans.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of construction materials.
• Conduct routine observations of structural/ reinforcing steel and connections.
• Perform data collection and calculations from sampling and testing.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers.
• Receive training on ECS methodologies and document findings precisely.
