Assist the Main OR surgical team under the supervision of the surgeon and registered nurse.

Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization.

Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and support surgeons effectively.

Adapt to emergency situations as needed.

Provide clean-up and turnover of the operating room to prepare for the next patient.

Must be able to rotate call and report within 30 minutes if called for a procedure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with attendance of the core curriculum for perioperative nursing or equivalent training, licensed to practice in Arkansas.
• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program (one or two year program).
• One year surgical experience required.
• Completed the hospital and unit-specific orientation period.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (renewable every two years).
• Ability to rotate taking surgical call (weeknights/weekends).
