Job description

The pay range per hour is $21.50 - $36.55.

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience, and certifications. A team of specialized consultants who understand what it means to meet our guests where they are at and deliver for them through strong operations, incredible guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising presentations that inspire guests and build the basket.

Teams in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics prioritize guest experience while blending the completion of tasks that ensure product is available and easy to shop – pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and the backroom.

Role of a Specialty Sales Team Leader

Target believes in providing our leaders with meaningful experiences to build skills for a career. The role of a Specialty Sales Team Leader can provide you with skills and experience in:

  • Guest service fundamentals and experience; building a guest-first culture on your team.
  • Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions strategies.
  • Planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals.
  • Leading multiple businesses, balancing team member expertise, and effectively leading teams in each department.
Typical Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Demonstrating a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience, modeling, training, and coaching team expectations.
  • Valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, creating equitable experiences.
  • Planning daily/weekly workload with your direct leader, executing to meet sales and guest engagement goals.
  • Leading and demonstrating a culture of best practices, onboarding, and skill development.
  • Partnering with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
  • Supporting team execution of merchandise updates and visual presentations.
  • Creating inspiring visual moments by organizing, signing, and merchandising products to seasonal trends.
  • Supporting backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment.
  • Participating in hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Prioritizing the guest experience, ensuring fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
  • Establishing clear goals with your direct leader, holding team members accountable.
  • Demonstrating a culture of safety and compliance, modeling safe behaviors, and reporting injuries.
  • Supporting physical security and store emergency needs.
  • Assisting with guest services such as cashiering, order pickup, and Drive-up, maintaining compliance.
  • Creating a welcoming environment, engaging with guests, and helping solve their needs.
  • Performing other duties as needed based on business needs.
Qualifications

Required skills include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, operate technology, and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload, prioritize tasks, and maintain a helpful attitude.
Additional Expectations

Access all areas of the store, interpret instructions, handle cash, climb ladders, lift merchandise, and work in varying temperatures and environments. Attendance and punctuality are essential.
