Job summary

Rightway is seeking a certified pharmacy technician to join the PBM Clinical Operations team as a Specialty Pharmacy Technician/Guide. You will engage with specialty members via phone, email, and chat, supporting pharmacists, coordinating prior authorizations, and guiding members through patient assistance programs.

The role emphasizes empathetic, concierge-level service, with 1–2 years’ experience and a CPhT certification.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a pharmacy technician role within a Specialty pharmacy, PBM, or health plan setting.
• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, critical thinker, empathetic, able to dig deep to resolve issues.
• Knowledge of pharmacy claims adjudication and benefit designs/terminology; ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as direct member and provider contact for specialty info, prior authorizations, and navigation support via phone, chat, fax, email, or written correspondence.
• Coordinate prior authorizations with the UM team and enrollment in patient assistance programs; assist with billing questions; follow up after medication receipt.
• Answer questions about distribution, benefit design, formulary coverage, costs, and claims adjudication; resolve issues.
• Support pharmacists with patient outreaches, scheduling, and program enrollments; assist with adherence and admin tasks.
• Assist in meeting operating and productivity standards; conduct quality reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
