Job summary

Baptist Health Specialty Pharmacy in Little Rock, AR is seeking a dedicated Specialty Pharmacy Technician to support data entry, filling, dispensing, packaging and delivery setup for specialty prescriptions.

You will assist with high-cost medication prior authorizations, benefits investigations, and third-party billing while aiding ambulatory clinical pharmacists in intake review, coverage checks, and patient outreach to improve adherence.

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician permit is required.
• PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with CPhT-Adv preferred.
• 2-3 years of retail, specialty, or inpatient pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete functions in the specialty pharmacy including data entry, filling, dispensing, packaging, and delivery setup.
• Assist with third party prior authorization requests and related services for high-cost medications.
• Conduct benefits investigations and manage third-party billing tasks.
• Support ambulatory clinical pharmacists by reviewing intake, prescription coverage, call center service, and patient outreach for adherence.
• Collaborate with Baptist Health 340B team to ensure regulatory compliance and patient needs are met.

Summary:

The Specialty Pharmacy technician is responsible for completing necessary functions in the specialty pharmacy (i.e. data entry, filling, dispensing, packaging, delivery setup for specialty prescriptions). Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to assistance with conducting and completing necessary third party prior authorization requests and associated services related to high cost medications, maximizing efficiency for patients and clinic staff. Benefits investigation and related tasks for managing third-part billing. Assists Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacists in clinics and specialty pharmacy to deliver high quality care, (i.e. review and screen new patients at intake, review prescription coverage, assist with call center customer service and triaging phone calls, outreach to patients for medication adherence, purchasing and inventory management within specialty pharmacy). Work effectively with Baptist Health 340B team to ensure regulatory compliance and collaboration to meet patient needs.

• 1. Active, unencumbered Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician permit required.
• 2. Has and maintains an active PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician(CPhT) certification; Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) is preferred.
• 3. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 4. 2-3 years of previous retail, specialty, or inpatient pharmacy experience required.
• 5. Must be able to work well with others, communicate effectively (spoken, electronic, telephonic), and possess good organizational and time management skills.
• 6. Must possess the ability and initiative to plan for and complete daily activities with minimal supervision.
• 7. Must have through computer skills and ability to quickly learn new technologies.

This job will be authorized80.00 hours bi-weekly.
