Job summary

Actalent is seeking a dedicated Specialty Pharmacy Technician to support the shipping of specialty medications nationwide from Birmingham, AL. You will work in a high-volume production environment with a team of up to 10, focusing on accurate order processing, packing methods, and timely delivery.

The role requires a valid Alabama Pharmacy Technician license, prior pharmacy tech experience, and ability to use multiple computer systems for orders. Regular hours Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, onsite.

Job Title: Specialty Pharmacy Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The primary role of this position is to fulfill the shipping of specialty medication across the country, ensuring timely and secure delivery to patients.

Responsibilities

• Use multiple computer systems to obtain pharmacy orders, compare them to orders received, and produce mailing labels.
• Utilize the best method for product packing and shipping based on standard procedures, including type of packaging and unique conditions, such as refrigeration, to ensure safe and secure delivery.
• Prepare manual prescription orders by verifying information, pulling appropriate prescription drugs from inventory, and completing necessary scanning and packaging.
• Maintain various machines and equipment, such as IPD machines and auto packing machines.

Essential Skills

• Active AL pharmacy tech license.
• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy tech role.
• Proficiency in using multiple computer systems for order processing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is highly preferred.
• Experience in pharmacy shipping is recommended.
• Production experience in pharmacy settings is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is based in a specialty pharmacy environment, where you will prepare and ship orders alongside a team of up to 10 members. The work hours are from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The dress code is casual, and the interview process includes one in-person round. This is a high-volume production environment offering stability within a large organization and plenty of opportunities for growth and cross‑training.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
