Northwestern Medicine in Chicago is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to support the Specialty Pharmacy with advanced duties under a registered pharmacist. The role covers daily dispensing operations, inventory, and coordination with call center activities in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle verification, stocking, billing reconciliations, REMS compliance, and collaboration with procurement and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure required by statute.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred to demonstrate competency.
• 1–2 years of technician experience; 5+ years preferred for seniority.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced Pharmacy Technician duties under pharmacist supervision in dispensing areas.
• Supports specialty pharmacy fulfillment operations and call center activities.
• Handles prescription verifications, inventory management, billing issues, and recalls as needed.
• Ensures REMS requirements and prepares medication guides when needed.
