Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a Pharmacy Technician II for per diem support in Specialty Pharmacy Services. Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare and dispense medications, manage inventory, and assist with financial transactions and customer service in a hospital setting.

The role requires CPhT, MA registration, and at least one year of pharmacy experience. Preference for an associate degree and hospital experience; strong attention to detail is essential for accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPhT certification.
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• One year of pharmacy-related experience.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Two years of pharmacy-related hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in sterile and non-sterile medication preparation.
• Operates automated technology for preparation and documentation of sterile products.
• Picks medications for automated dispensing cabinet replenishment.
• Manages inventory and secures records.
• Handles floor stock and back-up stock replenishment.
• Maintains medication rooms and removes expired/discontinued meds.
• Packages bulk meds using unit-dose systems and follows standard formulas.
• Performs cycle counts of inventory and documents results.
• Assists in patient care areas and maintains clean, organized pharmacy spaces.
• Maintains refrigerator temperature inspections and records.
• Handles customer transactions and provides patient service over the phone.
