Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
• One year of pharmacy-related experience required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Two years of pharmacy-related hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pharmaceuticals including sterile and non-sterile products per master formulary and instructions.
• Operate automated technology to assist in preparation and documentation.
• Pick medications for automated dispensing cabinet replenishment accurately.
• Perform inventory management and ensure proper storage and records.
• Maintain storerooms, restock, and remove expired medications.
• Restock medications into dispensing cabinets in patient care areas accurately.
• Manage emergency medication inventory and regular stock checks.
• Conduct temperature inspections of refrigerators and ensure compliance with policies.
• Engage with customers, assist with point-of-sale transactions, and triage calls as needed.
• Communicate with nursing, physicians, and ancillary services to support departments.
