Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• One (1) year of pharmacy-related experience.
• Associate’s degree.
• Two (2) Years of pharmacy-related experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Participates in sterile and non-sterile medication preparation activities.
• Operates automated technology to assist in preparation and documentation of sterile products.
• Picks medications for automated dispensing cabinet replenishment.
• Performs inventory management and maintains records.
• Fills floor stock remote orders for areas such as Operating Room or Emergency Room.
• Maintains storeroom areas and restocks as needed.
• Restocks medications into automated cabinets in patient care areas.
• Manages emergency medication inventory and maintains supplies.
• Maintains medication rooms and conducts routine inspections.
• Uses unit-dose machine for packaging and non-sterile compounding.
• Performs cycle counts of the carousel and keeps records.
• Communicates with nursing, physicians and ancillary services.
• Keeps the pharmacy neat and clean and ensures quality control paperwork is completed.
