Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Specialty Pharmacy Technician I to join our hospital pharmacy team in New Jersey. The role emphasizes sterile compounding, aseptic technique, and collaboration with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, at least 1 year of hospital experience, and proficiency with EPIC.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; hospital experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital or similar experience.
• Aseptic techniques, USP standards, and compounding equipment knowledge.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to use EPIC.
• Knowledge of brand and generic medications.

Responsibilities

• Sterile compounding of IV admixtures and other sterile products per protocols.
• Aseptic technique to minimize contamination and ensure patient safety.
• Quality assurance including cleaning, testing, and monitoring of equipment and cleanrooms.
• Inventory management and restocking of sterile drugs and supplies.
• Accurate documentation of compounding activities and batch records.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare professionals to meet patient needs.
• Follow safety protocols, PPE use, and waste disposal.
• Stay current with industry guidelines and training.
• Prepare various parenteral mixtures and load into ADC with barcode scanning.
• Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, label and dispense medications.
• Support drug inventory process and order fulfillment.
• Answer phones and direct calls to proper personnel.
• Filling unit dose, IV admixtures, and chemotherapeutic medications under supervision.
