Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
• ACPE IV Certification with completion of 40-hour IV admixture course preferred.
• Sterile Products Certification required if handling sterile products.
• 1–2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.

Responsibilities

• Select medications according to prescribed dosage and strength.
• Receive merchandise and place into inventory.
• Monitor inventory for out-of-date stock.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Load drugs into automated dispensing systems (PYXIS).
• Respond to medication requests from nursing and other departments.
• Ensure medication safety and compliance with policies.
