Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to explain specialty pharmacy benefits to patients, assist with enrollment, and manage prior authorizations and financial assistance. You will coordinate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely processing of orders and provide patient support through calls and inquiries.

The role requires a high school diploma and an active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license, with preferred additional Kentucky licensure and related credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing in Ohio.
• Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required.

Responsibilities

• Explain benefits of specialty pharmacy services to patients and support participation in the program.
• Assist with enrolling patients into the specialty pharmacy program.
• Complete benefits investigations, prior authorizations, and financial assistance tasks to help ensure access to medications.
• Coordinate with pharmacy team for accurate and timely processing of orders.
• Provide direct patient support via outbound adherence and refill reminder calls; handle inbound inquiries.
• Route clinical questions to the appropriate clinician.
