Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Clinical Specialty Pharmacist for an on-site role within the Processing Pharmacist Team. You will review and verify specialty medication orders, dispense such orders, and support providers with calls for clarifications.

This is a non-patient facing role focused on front-end clinical elements and back-end dispensing to ensure safe, accurate therapy. In a large clinical pharmacist team, you will help patients achieve optimal outcomes through high-quality pharmaceutical

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities and knowledge of controlled substances laws.
• 2 years' work experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, coach and provide feedback to team members.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient records/charts, including initial patient assessment and care plans.
• Reviews and supervises the work of pharmacy technicians across the prescription process.
• Completes patient counseling and documents interactions with patients and prescribers.
• Reviews patient demographics and prescriptions to ensure appropriate therapy and dosing.
• Follows procedures for security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Participates in care coordination to meet patient outcomes and discharge planning.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
