Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Clinical Specialty Pharmacist for an on-site role in Frisco, TX. The position involves upstream review and verification of specialty orders, dispensing of specialty medications, and supporting healthcare providers with clinical clarifications.

This non-patient facing role supports front-end clinical elements and back-end dispensing to ensure safe, accurate medication therapy. Within a large clinical pharmacist team, you will help patients achieve optimal outcomes through

Qualifications

Current Pharmacist license required.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities.
2 years' work experience providing customer service.
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Completes patient records/charts and assessment.
Reviews and supervises pharmacy technicians across dispensing process.
Provides patient counseling in compliance with protocols and REMS programs.
Reviews demographics and prescriptions to ensure appropriate therapy and accurate dosing.
Follows procedures for security of controlled substances and aseptic compounding.
Coordinates care to meet patient outcomes and discharge planning.
Other responsibilities as needed.
