Job summary

CPS, a unit within Optum, is hiring a full-time Specialty Pharmacist to join the team at Southern Ohio Medical Center, delivering high-quality care to patients with complex, specialty diseases and aiming for improved clinical outcomes.

The pharmacist will educate patients, coordinate with providers and payers, oversee prior authorizations, monitor safety, and ensure REMS compliance, while collaborating with a large team of pharmacy professionals to support optimal patient care.

Qualifications

PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree with equivalent experience from an ACPE-accredited college.
Active pharmacist license in good standing in Ohio.

Responsibilities

Review and manage specialty medication therapies for complex, chronic, or high-cost conditions.
Provide patient education and counseling on adherence, administration, side effects, and outcomes.
Coordinate care with providers, payers, and manufacturers for therapy access and continuity.
Oversee prior authorizations and utilization management per payer/program requirements.
Monitor therapy effectiveness and safety, including lab values and outcomes.
Ensure REMS and accreditation documentation and reporting.
Support quality initiatives and outcomes reporting aligned with specialty pharmacy metrics.
