Job summary

American Welding & Gas, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Specialty Gas Lab Technician to conduct tests and prepare documentation for specialty gas cylinders, applying quality control to samples per SOPs. The role involves analytical work on medical and specialty gases using gas chromatographs and process analyzers.

The position requires familiarity with gas chromatography, adherence to OSHA/EPA/FDA/DOT regulations, and documentation duties in a safety-focused, ISO-aligned environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 4 year college degree or similar work experience preferred.
• Familiarity with gas chromatography and process gas analyzers.
• 1-3 years of Industrial/Specialty Gas experience preferred.
• Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and math (algebra) skills.

Responsibilities

• Use gas chromatography and process gas analyzers to certify gas mixtures.
• Operate manual and automatic instruments and equipment.
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, FDA, DOT, etc.).
• Comply with Compressed Gas Association guidelines.
• Comply with company quality management system policies regarding ISO 17025 and ISO 17034 standards.
• Prepare product for shipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
