Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in Somerville, MA is seeking a Team Member for the Specialty department to receive and prepare product, maintain the Specialty floor and displays, and assist customers.

You will help ensure quality, freshness, and an inviting shopping experience while supporting store programs and health and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, proactive selling, and maintaining clean, well-stocked displays.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products in the department.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
• Engages in positive and proactive selling.
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
• Checks product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Monitors spoilage and waste to minimize department costs.
• Assists with sampling program and keeps sample areas clean and appealing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Provides excellent customer service and responds to customer needs promptly.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accurate signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and follows health and safety regulations.
