Job summary

Metropolitan Veterinary Associates in Norristown, PA is seeking a Floater Nurse/Veterinary Technician to support multiple departments in a dynamic hospital setting. This full-time role offers exposure to surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and emergency cases.

You will rotate among specialties, perform venipuncture and IV placement, monitor anesthesia, and maintain patient records while collaborating with experienced teams to ensure compassionate, high-quality care for our patients.

What You’ll Do

As a Floater Nurse at MVA, you’ll step in and support various departments based on need, making each day both challenging and rewarding. In this role, you will:

  • Rotate among different specialties, including surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, emergency, and more, quickly adapting to each department’s protocols.
  • Provide hands-on assistance during procedures—from general patient care and diagnostic workups to advanced interventions—under the guidance of senior technicians and specialists.
  • Manage a range of technical tasks, such as venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and patient record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, learning from specialists and fellow technicians to expand your expertise across multiple areas of veterinary medicine.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, ensuring each department is stocked with necessary supplies and that equipment is ready for immediate use.
  • Embrace continuous growth, seeking out learning opportunities and applying new skills to become a highly versatile, well-rounded technician.

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position with the following available schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation

  • Starting at $23.00/hour
