Job summary

University of Kentucky seeks a Specialty Dental Assistant to support both surgical and general dental procedures. The role includes four-handed chairside assistance for pediatric and adult treatments, and rotation to operating room settings as needed.

Responsibilities include patient histories, IVs, and vital signs monitoring during sedation, plus instrument passing and post-operative care instructions. Requires HS and BLS; CORO polishing, X-ray, and IV sedation competencies to be obtained

Qualifications

• HS required or equivalent.
• BLS certification required at time of hire; obtain coronal polishing, dental X-ray, and IV sedation competencies within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide four-handed chairside assisting for pediatric and adult dental treatments.
• Assist in orthodontics, restorative, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and implants; may rotate to operating room settings.
