Job summary

Fillmore County Hospital is seeking a Specialty Clinic LPN/RN Clinical Support Nurse to coordinate patient care and support efficient clinic operations. The role blends nursing, EHR management, referrals, scheduling, and triage to enhance patient care and assist providers.

The ideal candidate has an LPN/RN license (Nebraska) with BLS and ambulatory clinic experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Registered Nurse program.
• Current Nebraska LPN or RN license (or eligibility for licensure).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ambulatory, specialty clinic, surgical, or outpatient nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation and orders.
• Coordinate patient referrals with providers and scheduling staff; monitor status.
• Schedule follow-up care and coordinating tests, imaging, and appointments.
• Perform telephone triage and provide nursing advice within scope of practice.
• Coordinate patient care across departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Support surgical and procedural service workflows in the specialty clinic.
• Provide patient education to enhance the patient experience.
• Cross-train in clinic operations to support throughput and regulatory compliance.
• Provide direct clinical nursing care during visits as needed, within licensure.
• Adhere to HIPAA and compliance requirements and participate in quality initiatives.
